Welcome to philipshaw.ca
I hope you have had a chance to look around and maybe even listen to a podcast. It has been a long time coming. For years I’ve been on everybody else’s web site. I needed my work to be concentrated where everybody could take a look and communicate if they wanted. Now it’s here.
Under the Agridome is in its 20th year of publication. You will find every article here on a one-week delay.
At Issue is my mainstream economic and political commentary. Each week I write about economics, finance and politics. It has been published on cktimes.ca for the last four years.
East/West is a “world issues” column I co-author with Dr. A.K. Enamul Haque, Professor of Economics at East West University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is published monthly here and on cktimes.ca.
The “podcasts” are repeats of my agricultural economic radio commentary on CFCO radio in Chatham Ontario. It is updated weekly on Thursday. Click on the link and see what I’m talking about this week.
It has been a very busy last two weeks. On February 14th I spoke at the Guelph Farm Rally in Guelph Ontario. There were about 1500 farmer there. That weekend found me at the Louisville Farm Show, the Super Bowl of North American agriculture.
On Monday February 2oth I spoke at the University of Windsor. The topic was Terrorism, Politics and Poverty. Dr. Fay Patel read the January East West column and contacted me to come to the University of Windsor. Dr. A.K. Enamul Haque contributed a 15-minute video lecture, which was shown before I started. It was quite a night. The University of Windsor might never be the same.
I quickly got to Ottawa the next day (February 21st) to once again speak at a farm rally. The Ottawa Farm Rally attracted about 2000 farmers. I spoke just before Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl. It was quite a day.
